5Yeah, well, maybe we're a little biasedMar 10, 2000

Of course, if you're reading this review, you MUST be a satriani fan anyway. Let's face it, you're not going to browse over to the satriani section in between checking out the latest albums by brittany spears and the backstreet boys. So you should only expect to find nothing but praise here in the first place. What can I say? If you're not yet a satriani fan and are just happening upon this album, BUY IT! This one turned so many people into budding guitar players it's not even funny. There's not been a more revered and guitarist spawning guitar album since Becks Blow by Blow or maybe even Hendrix's Axis, Bold as Love. If you ARE a satriani fan, and have not yet heard this album, well, you're obviously out of touch. Go ahead and buy the gold version so you'll be getting a double treat. Not to mention there are already people buying the gold versions on ebay for 40 bucks! Imagine what it will be worth in another ten or so. The next one to be remastered will undoubtably be flying in a blue dream or crystal planet. But this one is really the one that brought instrumental rock guitar back to life. Also, if you've not heard it (again, you're out of touch) buy Steve Vai's Passion and Warfare.

5Simply awesome!Jan 29, 2000
By Gary Scott
This album is amazing, pure and simple. From unbelievably tight rhythm playing, to fluid solos and wickedly fast runs. Check out Circles - it starts off with a moody atmospheric chorused and delayed beginning, going into double-time wah-inflected runs, and Van Halen type tapping, then, just as calmly, back to the rhythm guitar again. For sensitive phrasing, and oh-so-perfect notes, listen to Always...All I can say is wow. The gold CD actually improves the recording quality noticably - I own both the original and gold, and have noticed it. BUY THIS CD!

5SATRIANIS BEST ALBUM ALONG WITH CRYSTAL PLANETJul 29, 1999

this is one of the greatest albums ever made. Its not a surprise to see it in gold. Every song has something about it that makes you like it or actually love it. There is no such thing as a bad song when it comes to Satriani.

5One of the best Satch albums ever.Jul 17, 1999

This album, along with Crystal Planet, the best Satriani has ever made. If you don't like this album, you've got a screw loose. I've been listening to it for twelve years, and I still can't get enough.
